Inspiration

We were deeply inspired by the extraordinary life of Alluri Sitarama Raju, a fearless freedom fighter who led tribal revolts against British colonial rule in Andhra Pradesh. His story is rarely told with the intensity it deserves — he was more than a revolutionary; Alluri Sitarama Raju was a Superman in human form — a protector, a warrior, a healer, and a symbol of courage. His journey, sacrifice, and lion-hearted leadership motivated us to create a digital tribute that educates, inspires, and preserves his legacy.

What it does

Flame of Freedom is an immersive historical storytelling website that:

  1. Chronicles the life and legacy of Alluri Sitarama Raju.
  2. Includes a visual timeline of major events (1897–1924)
  3. Features handpicked books, cinematic videos, and maps
  4. Showcases his guerrilla warfare tactics, tribal connections, and independence contributions
  5. Offers educational media for students, historians, and citizens alike It transforms history into a powerful digital experience that connects emotionally with viewers.

How We Built It:

  1. Frontend: Built using HTML and CSS with a responsive layout that works smoothly across all devices.
  2. Design: Crafted with custom visuals, smooth animated transitions, and interactive media cards to enhance user engagement.
  3. AI Tools: Leveraged AI tools to generate banners, refine content, and assist in scripting and video ideas.
  4. Media Integration:
  5. Embedded historical videos taken from YouTube to provide real visual context.
  6. Included book previews, timeline illustrations, and quotes to make the story immersive.
  7. User Experience: Focused on making the site colorful, engaging, and mobile-friendly, while deliberately avoiding dark or dull tones like black in headers and footers to maintain a vibrant aesthetic.

Challenges we ran into

  2. Designing a site that’s informative yet cinematic
  3. Balancing visual storytelling with factual accuracy
  4. Making the site responsive across devices while keeping animations intact
  5. Crafting a tone that honors history without feeling like a textbook
