Project Update flabs is now an open-source browser-based physics lab builder. Students can open a private temporary lab, choose an LLM provider/model, paste their own API key, and ask the AI to build interactive physics experiments. Recent improvements: Removed accounts/login and replaced them with private browser sessions. API keys are kept in page memory only and are not written to localStorage, sessionStorage, or server disk. Each visitor gets their own private lab space. New labs now start as a real clean slate. The AI builder is constrained to safe lab tools and must update only the current lab files. Added live grounding with emet for physics research and source-backed formulas. Added validation so generated labs cannot create duplicate UI controls or unsafe scripts. Deployed live on Render Free, with the known limitation that sessions and files are temporary because there is no persistent disk.
