Our Inspiration The idea for FitsFiti came from a feeling I think we all know too well: staring at a closet packed with clothes, but with that sinking feeling of having absolutely "nothing to wear." We were inspired to create something more than just another app; we wanted to build an AI-powered friend that could transform how you see your own wardrobe. The vision was to blend cutting-edge AI with a beautiful, intuitive experience to make the daily ritual of getting dressed effortless, creative, and fun.

How We Built It

To bring this vision to life, especially under the pressure of a hackathon, we went all-in on an AI-first approach. We built FitsFiti from the ground up using Bolt.new, and honestly, it was a game-changer. It allowed us to move from just an idea to a real, working application in a matter of weeks.

Here's a look at our tech stack:

Frontend: We used React Native with Expo, which was a no-brainer for building a seamless experience across web, iOS, and Android from a single codebase.

Backend: Supabase is our powerhouse. We're using its PostgreSQL database, serverless Edge Functions for our AI logic, and its incredible authentication services.

Design: The app features a beautiful, modern UI. We used AI to generate the initial interfaces and then refined them with Tailwind CSS for consistent and responsive styling.

Deployment: Our web app is live on Netlify with a custom domain at fitsfiti.fun, showcasing a complete and seamless deployment cycle.

Challenges We Ran Into

Of course, building something this ambitious wasn't without its challenges. Integrating our AI—from computer vision for tagging clothes to the recommendation algorithms—into a smooth user experience was a huge hurdle. We also worked hard to ensure the app felt just as good on a desktop web browser as it did on a phone, which required careful attention to cross-platform details. Managing the storage and fast retrieval of thousands of user-uploaded images was another puzzle we had to solve to keep the app performant.

Accomplishments We're Proud Of

Looking back, we're incredibly proud of what we've achieved in such a short time. Thanks to Bolt.new, we went from a concept to a fully functional, production-ready app in just a few weeks. We've delivered a comprehensive set of features, from AI recommendations to outfit planning, all wrapped in a beautiful, user-friendly interface. We're proud to have built a clean, scalable, and secure application that's already deployed and live.

What We Learned

This project was a massive learning experience. We saw firsthand how AI-assisted platforms like Bolt.new can drastically accelerate the development lifecycle, allowing a solo developer to build complex full-stack applications with incredible speed. We also gained deep, practical knowledge in leveraging Supabase for a scalable backend and in navigating the nuances of true cross-platform development with Expo and React Native.

What's Next for FitsFiti

This is just the beginning. Our roadmap is packed with exciting enhancements:

Smarter AI: We plan to integrate weather analysis, seasonal suggestions, and even color palette analysis for more precise recommendations.

More Social Features: We want to introduce friend connections, enhanced sharing, and collaborations with fashion influencers.

Commerce Integration: We're exploring partnerships to offer shopping recommendations and virtual try-on features.

Global Expansion: We'll be adding multi-language support to adapt to diverse cultural styles and bring FitsFiti to a wider audience.
