Inspiration

In 2021, COVID-19 changed everybody's lives for the worse, some more than others. For me and my partner, we lost all motivation to exercise since spending our lives inside quickly became required. Two years went by and we both became overweight due to unhealthy habits. It only got better once high school started through our passion of basketball, this special game motivated us to workout and train hard. Our mission is to help teenagers in similar positions stay healthy and be excited to exercise.

What it does

We created an app prototype designed to make fitness easier, more engaging, and more rewarding for teens. The app lets users track all types of exercises and workouts, earning points for every activity they complete. Over time, these points build up and unlock exciting rewards, turning healthy habits into a fun and motivating experience.

How we built it

Using vs code, we used html for the look of our app screen designs, did the coloring, size, animations in css, and used javascript to program the app into a workable project.

Challenges we ran into

Both me and my partner didn't know html, css, and javascript. That made us get off to a slow start since we needed to learn from youtube videos and our TA from our beginning c++ class. There was so many challenges in the app not working how we projected, but all was fixed to our desired end product!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud with our final project, specifically how well it looks on-screen and how exciting it would be to use.

What we learned

We learned so much about html, css, and js. That's why we did the hackathon, for the opportunity to learn and compete against the best at De Anza.

What's next for FitQuest

FitQuest will be developed and engineered even further, such as adding a suggested workout schedule based on the users preferences or history.
