Inspiration

We were inspired by the idea that fitness and health should be accessible to everyone, regardless of income or schedule. We saw a gap between the desire to be fit and the resources available to most people. FitGenius was born out of the belief that technology, specifically AI, can close this gap and empower individuals with personalised fitness and nutrition guidance.

What it does

FitGenius acts as a personal health companion. It provides users with tailored workout routines, real-time form correction during exercises, and dietary plans based on their unique health profiles and fitness goals. It's an all-in-one solution designed to make personal training accessible anytime, anywhere.

How we built it

We built FitGenius using a robust tech stack including OpenAI's GPT-4 for natural language processing and chatbot interactions, pose estimation, and figma mobile prototype.

Challenges we ran into

Assessing exercise form through video was a significant challenge due to the variability in user's body types and environments. Ensuring user data privacy and creating a highly intuitive user interface were also hurdles we had to overcome.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of prototyping an app that can provide real-time, accurate feedback on workout form - a feature that stands out in the fitness app market. We're also proud of the personalised user experience we crafted, which makes users feel like they have a personal trainer by their side.

What we learned

We gained insights into the importance of user experience design in creating an app that people will use consistently. We also learned to navigate and integrate various advanced AI technologies.

What's next for FitGenius

Moving forward, FitGenius will expand to include more exercises, support additional languages, and offer deeper integrations with wearable devices. We're looking into incorporating augmented reality to enhance the training experience and exploring partnerships with health professionals to bring even more value to our users.
