Inspiration
I wanted to create a simple fitness website that helps people start exercising without feeling overwhelmed. Many beginners struggle to decide which exercises to do and how long to work out, so I built FitCoach to make getting started easier.
What it does
FitCoach is a fitness assistant website that lets users choose their fitness level, workout duration, and goal. It generates a workout plan and provides a chat-style interface with fitness guidance. Users can also follow a workout timer and move through exercises step by step.
How I built it
I built FitCoach using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I developed the interface and added interactive features for selecting workout preferences, generating exercise plans, responding to common fitness questions, and controlling the workout timer.
Challenges I faced
One challenge was connecting the different parts of the website so that the workout selections, exercise plan, chat interface, and timer worked together. I learned how JavaScript can make a website interactive and how to publish a project online using GitHub and GitHub Pages.
What I learned
This project helped me practice frontend development, problem-solving, and turning an idea into a working web prototype. I also learned that a useful fitness experience needs a simple interface and clear instructions.
What's next
I would like to improve FitCoach by adding more exercises, saving workout progress, improving accessibility, and integrating an AI service for more personalized fitness guidance.
