Though many people make New Year's resolutions to go to the gym, most stop going after a month or two. FitBet keeps you motivated to keep going all year round.

What it does

FitBet allows people to form gym groups in which they pay a fee to join. Each month, they pay another fee, which is put into the group pool. If someone misses a day, a portion of the fee they paid is distributed equally among the rest of the members. After a period of time determined by the group-maker, you get back all the money you put in, plus the money you get from other people not being quite as motivated.
