Inspiration
We wanted to use technology to promote health and wellness. We aimed to create a platfrom that motivates people to prioritize their well-being. Our main inspirations were Michael Reeves's project on using a camera to track a goldfish and apply it a stock application and Apple's cutting-edge Vision Pro for the UI.
What it does
Fit Quest uses Computer Vision and gamified techniques to help people have fun while exercising. We use the webcam of the computer to track the effort that an individual puts in (don't slack off).
How we built it
We used OpenCV and MediaPipe to handle the computer vision aspect and PyGame to create the game mode.
Challenges we ran into
We had trouble working with new libraries and structuring our project. Many of our features were a challenge to implement, and we had difficulty combining all of our features together.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We explored many different libraries that were new to us and were able to combine them produce a functioning app.
What we learned
We learned more about the libraries we used (OpenCV, MediaPipe, and PyGame) and learned more about referencing documentation when needed.
What's next for Fit Quest
We would like to implement more game modes and improve the UI and performance.
