Inspiration
Fashion is personal, but getting honest style feedback isn't always easy. Most people have closets full of clothes yet still wonder:
- "Does this outfit actually look good on me?"
- "Will these colors suit my skin tone?"
- "How would this look before I buy it online?"
- "What should I wear for this occasion?"
Traditional virtual try-on experiences are often limited to a few clothing catalogs and don't work with clothes users already own. We wanted to build an AI-powered fashion assistant that allows anyone to upload their own photos and instantly receive personalized styling insights and realistic virtual try-ons.
Our goal was to make professional fashion advice accessible to everyone through the power of generative AI.

Challenges we ran into
Building realistic virtual try-on was far more difficult than simply generating images.
Some of our biggest challenges included:
- Preserving the user's facial identity during generation.
- Handling clothing images with different backgrounds and lighting.
- Preventing AI from changing body pose or proportions.
- Making outfits appear naturally fitted instead of pasted onto the image.
- Optimizing image quality while keeping generation costs reasonable.
- Designing prompts that consistently produce realistic fashion results.
- Creating a smooth mobile experience despite computationally intensive AI workflows.
Balancing quality, speed, and affordability required extensive experimentation.
