Inspiration
We all had so many issues with chopped fits from online shopping. We wanted to create an easy-to-use extension to let us see how clothes would look on us, along with a consolidated shopping cart that shows all our favorite fashion pieces on one site.
What it does
When activated it scrapes the current website for relevant pictures and sends them back to AWS. The user can then choose to try the item on virtually with a picture of themself and AWS Bedrock will generate a fit based off those clothes.
How we built it
We created a chrome extension and website for the front end and a serverless AWS backend that holds user data and uses Bedrock to create the images.
Challenges we ran into
Proper AWS creation and user authentication, CORS heading permission errors, chrome extension and web design, and web scraping were the toughest challenges for our team.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning new skill sets and tech stacks in such a short term, high pressure environment is our biggest accomplishment!
What we learned
Web development and design, chrome extension, AWS backend creation, and the integration of all three together was a lot of learning, but we managed to pull it off!
What's next for Fit Check
We hope with some quality polishing time to make this a useful tool for our fellow shoppers on campus and beyond!
