Inspiration

Fashion trends move quickly, and sharing creative outfit choices online is more popular than ever. We wanted to build a tool that gives users immediate, entertaining, and helpful feedback on their outfits. Powered by AI and designed for seamless social media sharing. The idea was to make fashion advice accessible and fun for everyone, while also creating ready made social media content that serves both the users and the app's creator. All while helping people feel more confident in what they wear.

What it does

Fit Check lets users upload a photo of themselves and receive a sassy, AI-generated review of their outfit, available in text or audio format. Our AI fashionista rates your look, provides playful commentary, and offers practical tips on what’s working and what could be improved. Each result comes as a ready-to-share vertical video perfect for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, or X. The Fit Check app is available in both free and paid-tiers, with additional bonuses for sharing the results to social media, creating a cyclical promotional wheel to drive more users to the app.

How we built it

Fit Check was built using the vibecoding capabilities of the Bolt platform. For fashion analysis and commentary, OpenAI’s vision models were leveraged, paired with custom prompt engineering to generate both sassy and constructive feedback. Text-to-speech was powered by ElevenLabs for lively audio reviews. The Bolt platform enabled seamless integration of all these components, collaborative brainstorming, and seamless ability to deploy.

Challenges we ran into

• Crafting natural, humorous commentary that sounded genuinely “human”, while avoiding repetitiveness to improve on replayability.
  
• Ensuring the AI gave constructive, non-offensive feedback required careful prompt engineering and lots of testing.
• Video generation posed formatting challenges to keep everything visually appealing in vertical orientation, especially across different devices.

What's next for Fit Check

• Add additional gamifications that will help daily usage, like weekly total score leaderboards, and score bonuses for daily usage.
• Let users pick from different virtual “AI Stylists” with unique personalities and fashion tastes/tips.
• Work with real life fashion influencers to integrate their unique personalities and voices directly into the game, giving them a referral code/link to help promote Fit Check and profit from their work.
• Explore partnerships with fashion brands for shoppable outfit suggestions.
• Launch on more platforms.
