Fist Bump

Empathizing with your bros*, through the highs...and the through the lows.

Inspiration

This project is inspired by the idea of harnessing the collective power of human empathy towards social good. Although seemingly trivial when taken at face value, FistBump illustrates the human capacity to relate, encourage, celebrate, and support others during important times of their life.

What is it?

FistBump is an anonymous social media site focused on providing a supportive community for those wishing to share positive (bro) or negative (bruh) experiences in their life.

Challenges

The most difficult aspect was designing a consistent and simple UI. Similar to having too many choices on a menu, having too many options crammed into one site can be overwhelming. We had to make sure to simplify the user experience.

What's next?

(1) Making it responsive on mobile (2) Dynamic loading of content so that it can support thousands of posts (3) Location based searching (4) Conversations and replying to messages

*Many of the team members being from the West Coast, bro is a gender-neutral term that is widely used to refer to anyone that they get along well with.
