Inspiration

Did you know that 1 out of every 3 seafood fillets that you buy at the supermarket are mislabeled? The implications of mislabeled fish fillets on fair trade, consumer health and sustainable marine ecosystems is staggering. Some countries have labeling regulations, however there is not a technical capacity for effectively enforcing these regulations. Consumers, retailers, regulatory agencies are all losing.

What it does

The Fillet-o-Matic automatically identifies fish fillets using a simple smartphone application. Consumers now have the power to hold retailers accountable and to notify regulatory agencies about mislabeled seafood.

Fillet-o-Matic is built using Ionic and runs on Android and iOS.
