Inspiration

In India, one person dies every few minutes because help doesn’t reach on time. Many accidents happen on roads, and people nearby often don’t know what to do or how to give first-aid. Ambulance and police also arrive late because nobody reports quickly. I wanted to solve this problem — even a few seconds can save a life. That inspired me to build FirstHelp, an AI-based platform that lets anyone call for help with one tap.

What it does

FirstHelp is a one-tap emergency response system. When the user taps the SOS button, the app:

Shares their exact location

Alerts ambulance, police, and fire services

Alerts nearby FirstHelp helpers

Opens an AI First-Aid Coach that guides CPR, bleeding control, choking, etc.

Allows choosing which services they want: ambulance, police, fire, or any combination

Gives instant call buttons for emergency numbers

Additional features:

Helper Reward System (credits + certificates)

Minor symptom checker

Discounted doctor consultations

Hands-free voice instructions

How we built it

I first created a demo using Lovable/Base44 with a mobile-first design. I built:

SOS screen with animation

AI first-aid steps

Helper rewards UI

Service selection (ambulance/police/fire)

Doctor booking page

Fully responsive website design

Challenges we ran into

Making the SOS process extremely simple

Designing a calm yet urgent UI

Writing clear first-aid instructions

Creating demo data for emergency responses

Understanding safety limits for AI in medical situations

Accomplishments

Built a clean and practical prototype

Created a working SOS emergency flow

Designed the AI first-aid coach

Designed the rewards system

Built a meaningful project focused on saving lives

What we learned

How emergency systems work

How to design user-friendly interfaces during panic situations

Basics of integrating AI for first-aid

How to structure problem → solution → prototype

What’s next for FirstHelp

Real integration with ambulance & police

Android app launch

Partnering with hospitals and government

Building a volunteer network

Adding voice guidance in regional languages

Offline emergency mode

More AI tools for minor illnesses
