Army Medic

Before I started my degree in computer science I was a medic in the Army. I worked the emergency room on my deployment to Kuwait and getting information on a patient when they were unconscious was impossible unless they came in with someone who knows them.

Quick information for medical professionals

My project seeks to solve the issue of a John Doe being picked up by first responders, and being treated by emergency room staff. The patient lists all medications, health issues, allergys , and personal information to limit possible harm done to the patient due to lack of information.

Java

This program is written in java because it is the only language I know. This is my first hackathon and I have learned so much through the workshops on how to make my future projects way better!

Challenges

My programming skills were put to the test on this project. This is the first time I have written a full project without it being an assignment with TODOs in it from my professors.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am so proud of the work I was able to put out today and am looking forward to figuring out how I can better myself and my skills for the next hackathon.

What I learned

The workshops today were amazing. I can't wait to try and work in api's into ideas that I have for projects that have been to daunting for me to begin.

What's next for First Responder Quick Data Access

I am going to take this idea and try to implement a database instead of saving data in .txt files
