Inspiration

I was inspired by my merged view of all top-down RPG games.

What it does

You play the game and punch some skeletons until they disappear. And then they respawn back a second later waiting for you to face them.

How we built it

We (me) started the project as a simple movement prototype, my partner was the playtester for the game and he gave me new ideas on what would make the project a playable game.

Challenges we ran into

I was lost in the beginning of the event and did not know what to do for the first 4 hours, but I eventually decided to just start making something.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The most memorable accomplishment in this project was the making of the pretty shader for the bound walls (which most players probably won't be looking at that much). And, making everything else was filled with accomplishments, for example, the working skeleton AI, the decorated terrain, the variety of imported assets, and the gameplay that plays mostly without any HUD.

What we learned

I learned how to successfully collaborate with peers, share ideas and stay motivated throughout the process of doing a project.

What's next for First hackaton project

I am planning on polishing up the game feel, adding more variety to enemies, and improving the graphics with some custom assets.
