Inspiration

What inspired me and my friend towards starting this project is knowing what it felt to have lots of pressure on us as first gen students.

What it does

Our website is a platform for people to share their poems and feel heard as we illustrate them and share it with other people who would like to read poems. In a way we wanted To build a community where people share similar feelings Towards our writers. This would also connect them through other social media platforms if they agreed for their information to be shared.

How we built it

We were complete amateurs. When we're in doubt we look at videos because we are visual learners. We learned how to build a website from a YouTuber called Jonathan Milligan. He had a whole series on step by step on how to start a website.

Challenges we ran into

Personally, I'm really bad at sizing stuff so when I would draw some of the images i would constantly see if it fit perfectly or if it needed adjustments in the home page, which would make me feel distressed. I ended up making It worked by resizing the art and just trial and error, Constantly checking how it looks in full screen.

Accomplishments

Me and my friend are most proud of the fact that we built a website we thought would be ten times harder but it turned out to be decently okay.

What we learned

I know it's a bit repetitive but we learned how to build a website and now we can build a businesses if we ever have a more specific plan.

What's next for dream droplet

We don't have the funds to continue this because it's on free trial, but we're probably going to ask some of our friends if they want us to illustrate some of their poems before it closes just as memories.
