First Aid

Inspiration

In the news at the time of making this, there was a story about someone that had been injured, and those around them wouldn't or couldn't help them because they were afraid of not properly aiding them as they lacked the proper first aid training/knowledge.

What it does

The app teaches you about possible emergencies that may occur to you or someone around you and simplifies the steps into easy to understand steps that can be understood under pressure.

How we built it

We built the app using MIT App Inventor.

Challenges we ran into

Some of the challenges that we had ran into regarding the app was making an app with multiple screens as this is the first time we had ever done this. Another problem was simplifying the lengthy steps for first aid into simple lists that are easy to understand.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of making an app that we could use and trust to give us reliable information that we could use ourselves in the real world.

What we learned

From the project we learned lots of information about first aid, and its practices. Additionally, we learned about how to make more complex apps than what we are used to, using many new features we had never used before.

What's next for First Aid

The next thing for first aid, would be to add a learning tab so that those wanting to learn more than just the emergency procedures can be even more prepared. We also want to include a GPS or database that could tell you nearby hospitals and the quickest routes. Finally, we want to add more emergency procedures as you can never be too prepared.
