FireShield

Firefighters are heroes who risk their lives daily — but an invisible threat follows them long after the flames are gone.

FireShield is a mobile app for IOS devices that aims to aid firefighters by identifying the presence of harmful substances and particles in their lungs. This data is then presented to them through a simple and easy-to-navigate user interface that provides them with their current level of exposure as well as their history throughout the week.

The app is also equipped with an easy-to-use AI summary feature that provides recommendations of what the firefighters should do to remain in good health going forward.

Our inspiration for this project was testimonies from real-life firefighters about their continued health issues and struggles after they were unable to detect the harmful substances they had been exposed to during their time on call.
