Inspiration

Our team was inspired by the wildfires in California. According to the World Economic Forum, these wildfires cost more than $400 million in the 2010s.

What it does

Our project is a game that allows users to simulate how a UAV would go about combatting wildfires.

How we built it

We used pygame.

Challenges we ran into

Originally, we wanted to create an RL agent that could learn the optimal way to combat wildfires, but we just didn't have enough time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The pseudorandom simulation of spreading fire.

What we learned

We learned a lot about how RL works.

What's next for Firefighter

We would still like to implement an AI agent that could learn how to play the game optimally.
