Inspiration

Our inspiration partly came from the idea of the page rank algorithm google uses in its search function. Our idea also took some inspiration from the Tiktok comment section.

What it does

Our project implements a ranking system in the shop that ranks items by its current viewership. The products in the top few places will gain a fire status which will allow users to enter the item and use the special comment system which will allow potential buyers to chat and share content.

How we built it

We planned the initial drafts with figma, we then implemented our project with react.js, styled with material.ui.

Challenges we ran into

Initially we had issues in terms of the direction to take to implement our product.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We pleased that our team was able to produce a basic implementation of our idea in such a short timeframe.

What we learned

We learned to code under time constraints.

What's next for Fire Chat

We envision that fire chat can be fleshed out in terms of functionality. We hope to be able to have backend connectivity adapted in our project such that it is a viable feature in a shopping app.
