FinWise

Inspiration

In America there are many with huge financial problems, leading them into life long debt. We wanted to create an app to help with this problem, and bring financial freedom to all.

What it does

FinWise takes the users annual income and monthly necessity spending that are fixed, such as car payments, subscriptions, groceries, etc. Then it tells them how much money they should save per month and how much they can spend. If they spend too much it will let them know, when their monthly spending is entered into the app.

How we built it

We used a low-code platform called code.org to create a User Interface for our prototype app, to walk judges through the app.

Challenges we ran into

We did not know Java Script so we had to learn how to use Java Script to make the app UI.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we could make a successful UI for this app and had some functionality.

What we learned

We learned how UIs work in the background of different apps.

What's next for FinWise

We will make an actual app that tracks users' finances and is able to get their spending live and add them up, to give you advice by the day to avoid overspending.
