FInWings is the perfect tool for teens or anyone starting their financial journey. FinWings gives all its users the wings they need and the guidance to soar and flourish in the financial world.

Inspiration -

We were inspired by apps such as FamPay, to provide financial literacy to teenagers. We had seen many teenagers spending their money very recklessly, us being some of them. Thus, we decided to make a website to make teens more responsible with their money.

What it does -

FinWings has 2 main features: a stock market simulator called SwagShare and a personal ledger called SmartyPants. With SwagShare, users can participate in the NSE in real time with in-site currency so that budding investors can take risks without worrying about real-world repercussions. SmartyPants is the smart ledger that makes tracking the user's transactions a piece of cake. After inputting their income and expenses, the user can access a monthly financial report, which gives them an insight on their financial progress.

How we built it -

We used HTML, JS, CSS and Node.Js for our project. Packages used include express and socket.io. We also used multiple APIs to access data across the financial world. We also used node package manager for live stock data from the NSE.

Challenges we ran into -

This was the first time any of us have made a website. We also faced many challenges in recreating the stock market into our website. We also were completely new to the concept of APIs that helped us integrate data into our website.

Accomplishments that we're proud of -

We are proud of the fact that we were able to create such a meaningful website that will hopefully help many teens be more responsible in such a short time. We're also very happy about the fact that we have replicated the stock market, which is a complex place to traverse.

What we learned -

We learnt a lot about the financial world, and this was our first venture into this area. We also learnt a lot about using databases and APIs for proper data management.

What's next for FinWings -

We are planning to expand FinWings into a full-fledged mobile and desktop app. We are also planning to implement intraday and options trading into this app. We also plan to implement an AI assistant into the app to give financial tips and guide the user towards financial freedom.
