Inspiration

Managing finances is one of the biggest challenges people face daily. Tracking expenses, handling debt, and making informed investment decisions can all be incredibly overwhelming. My group and I wanted to create a solution that could simplify all of those burdens while leveraging AI to provide smart insights. We were mainly inspired by the need for a more intuitive, user-friendly finance app, and so FinTrack was born.

What it does

FinTrack is an AI-powered finance app that allows users to track wallet balances, recommend smart investments, and display spending per month. This app is useful whether you are budgeting, planning investments, or reducing debt, FinTrack makes money management effortless.

How we built it

We spent countless sleepless hours developing FinTrack using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the front end, ensuring we provide a sleek, modern design. The AI-driven insights are provided by Alpha Vantage API and Open Banking API. We also made sure to implement dynamic UI components to create a friendly and seamless user experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was learning new coding languages and collaborating with Git. Additionally, we had challenges in optimizing the dashboard's design as well as getting the functionality of the API's to work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Some of the accomplishments that we're proud of include successfully designing a visually appealing UI, developing AI-driven recommendations, overcoming challenges in learning new technologies and using Git effectively, and building a functional, interactive dashboard.

What we learned

Throughout this project, we gained deeper experience in front-end development, AI integration, and the coding languages HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Not only that, but we also learned the importance of collaboration and problem-solving.

What's next for FinTrack

Next up on the timeline for FinTrack, we plan to integrate real-time transaction tracking, enhance the AI capabilities for more personalized investment insights, and develop a mobile friendly version.
