FinTrack Edge: Digital Finance Tools for GroMo Agents

💡 Inspiration

India’s rural and semi-urban communities remain underserved by traditional financial systems. We were inspired by the power of GroMo’s agent network to reach last-mile users, and wanted to equip them with an AI-powered platform that could simplify financial literacy, planning, and micro-investments. Our goal was to merge grassroots outreach with intelligent, responsible digital tools.

⚙️ What it does

FinTrack Edge empowers GroMo Partners with tools to onboard clients via voice, assess financial health, recommend tailored plans, and track micro-investments. The platform includes multilingual GPT-powered coaching, a smart scheduler, pitch feedback AI, lead scoring, and access to brand-sponsored training modules. It also supports offline usage for low-connectivity areas.

🛠️ How we built it

We used Next.js and React-native and Tailwind CSS for a fast, responsive frontend, and NestJS with FastAPI to power the backend services. Financial data is securely stored in MongoDB. We integrated GPT-4 for the multilingual chatbot and AI modules for personalized financial coaching. Offline compatibility and mobile-first UI were prioritized to meet rural user needs.

  • Designing a voice-first, multilingual UX that is accessible and intuitive.
  • Ensuring smooth performance in offline or low-bandwidth conditions.
  • Integrating diverse features like learning, tracking, and advising into one seamless platform.
  • Creating flows that align with real-world agent workflows while staying scalable.

📚 What we learned

We learned the importance of designing AI with empathy—making technology work for users with different literacy levels, languages, and access barriers. We deepened our understanding of agent-based models and built scalable tools that combine trust, personalization, and financial impact.

  • Add insurance-specific modules like AI plan comparison, claim tracking, and renewal alerts.
  • Expand our reach via more third-party API integrations (banks, insurers, NBFCs).
  • Partner with CSR programs to roll out region-specific financial literacy drives.
  • Continuously improve our AI models to adapt to evolving partner needs and local user behavior.
