About the Project

FinSmart is an all-in-one finance companion that empowers users to take control of their finances. Inspired by the complexities of managing budgets, investments, and cryptocurrency, we set out to build a solution that simplifies financial tracking and decision-making.

What Inspired Us

As finance enthusiasts, we realized the need for a comprehensive tool that combines budgeting, stock market tracking, and cryptocurrency monitoring. Many existing apps lacked seamless integration, leading us to create FinSmart - an innovative solution to bridge the gap.

What We Learned

Throughout the development journey, we honed our skills in Python, API integration, and data visualization. Understanding financial markets and crafting a user-friendly interface taught us the importance of simplicity and data accuracy in a finance app.

How We Built It

We used Python's yfinance to fetch stock data, integrated Coinbase API for real-time cryptocurrency prices, and requests for currency conversions. The app's frontend was designed using Tkinter for a smooth user experience.

Challenges Faced

Integrating multiple APIs while ensuring real-time data accuracy proved challenging. Handling exceptions, API rate limits, and user inputs required meticulous planning. Nonetheless, we triumphed and built a robust FinSmart that seamlessly caters to diverse financial needs.
