Inspiration
We came up with an idea to develop an app that can help the community better understand their spending habits and provide resources that can help improve their financial decisions.
What it does
- It tracks expenses made by the user.
- Gives users access to information such as articles, videos, suggestions regarding mindful purchases.
- Set a maximum spending limit and note when they are exceeding it or not.
- Monitors Savings.
- Reminds users to log in their daily expenses at the close of day.
How we built it
We built the code using javascript. We setup the MongoDB Database and installed everything. We also connected the server and completed the backend. We faced difficulty in front end but we did it later.
Challenges we ran into
- running the front end
- bugs and errors.
- difficulty in running the app as a whole
- Combining the front end and back end
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Designing our finance app
- Finishing and polishing our project
What we learned
- Teamwork and the power of collaboration.
- how to run backend and frontend without bugs.
- learned to never give up hope even though when things seem impossible.
What's next for Finsight Hub
We are open to modification and perhaps building a startup if it undergoes the necessary requirements/scrutiny and meets the market demands. We are certain it will solve the expenses tracking problems for users and help them to be financially independent and make informed decisions. We could have merged the front end and back end but we did not have time. If we had time we could have merged the front end and back end which would lead us to a better Web app.
