Inspiration

Social distancing is the key to prevent the spreading of corona virus. It also helps to secure a quarantine. We need a super effective solutions for everyone to keep the distance and not spreading the virus!

What it does

FinPandem application shows the possible corona infected individuals easily and rapidly at the map. Within 5-10 seconds, the user can see where corona hotspots can be and can avoid the threat. The visualization is green (no symptoms) or red dot (symptoms, lab test positive COVID-19) so it is really easy to see where not to go!

How I built it

Co-operation is the key. We have team of 5 doctors, 1 lawyer, 1 PR-worker together with professional data coders. With clinical and physician perspective, we created short survey and developed GSP-based tracking systems.

Challenges I ran into

The major issue to get it out for Google Play and Apple Store. The application is completely anonymous. We need well a prestige organisation or government etc. to support our cause.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The application launch was presented to Finnish major TV for over 1 million viewers as one of the headline news!

What I learned

Nothing is accomplished without a great team work! Highly effective individuals can make substantial co-operation and develop something astonishing.

What's next for FinPandem

Managing the data and creating AI software which can predict the spreading of coronavirus in small communities as well as big nationwide settings.
