Inspiration
Most students struggle with managing money—whether it's budgeting, saving, or making informed financial decisions. Financial literacy is rarely taught in school, yet it affects every aspect of student life. We built FinLearn to give students a simple, fun, and accessible way to learn finance and immediately apply that knowledge.
What it does
FinLearn is a student-friendly financial learning and simulation platform that helps students build real financial skills. It includes:
- 📘 Bite-sized, easy-to-understand finance lessons
- 🧠 AI-powered “Ask a Scenario” – Students describe a situation and get personalized recommendations
- 📊 Beginner-friendly investment simulators & calculators
- 🎯 Personalized savings suggestions
- 📝 Interactive quizzes to reinforce financial concepts
FinLearn simplifies finance so that every student can learn, practice, and make better money decisions.
How we built it
Our build process focused on speed, design clarity, and smart use of AI tools:
🧩 AI Tools Used:
- ChatGPT – for generating prompts, copywriting, UX ideas, and initial content structure
- GitHub Copilot – for small coding tasks, helper functions, and improving code efficiency
🎨 UI/UX: Designed in Figma, refined iteratively
💻 Development:
- Frontend: React + Tailwind CSS
- Backend/Hosting: GitHub → Netlify for deployment
- Version Control: GitHub repository connected to Netlify for continuous deployment
We focused on building a clean, responsive, and student-centric interface.
