Inspiration
Our inspiration for the project was to create a financial tool that would be beneficial to younger people. All of us can agree that we can do better with our budgeting and financial literacy skills. For the project we decided to make a tool that utilizes a budget making feature as well as a stored wish-list. Additionally, we have added a section to learn about different financial terms and find up-to-date news about market trends and finance. This is all stuff that we wish we had direct, compact access to when we were younger.
What it does
FinLearn allows users to make personalized budget plans based on factors like allowance, income, routine subscriptions, purchases, and high value items. It also allows users to create a customized wish list based on urgency and importance level for purchasing the items. Additionally, FinLearn educates users on complex financial terms that people new to finance may not know. There is a section with up-to-date news about all things finance.
How we built it
We built FinLearn using Wix Studio which utilizes a HTML, CSS, and JavaScript language. We used AI generated images.
Challenges we ran into
- Learning JavaScript language from scratch.
- Familiarizing ourselves with the Wix Studio functionalities.
- Unable to add some features, such as creating an account, due to the requirement for paid subscription.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are most proud of inputting news articles within our website. Our website is a platform which provides an interactive feature for the users to track their spending history and set target to get their desired items mentioned in their wishlist.
