Inspiration
The spread of Misinformation across social media has been a huge issue today and has promoted negative events such as injustice, inequality and even conflicts online. To combat this issue, we created Finity that alerts users of hoaxes and brings like minds of interested events together
What it does
It captures users post caption and flags them has hoaxes (incorrect information) or not using Natural language processing by analyzing events from Predict HQ's API. It also connects individuals interested in similar world events with one another
How we built it
We built this by using PredictHQ Api through AWS Data Exchange Signature 4 Authentication. We stored the project on git hub We used Swift for development of the client side UI We used NLP kit for the finding similarities between two sentences We used Google Cloud database as the backend database
Challenges we ran into
Due to little presence of code implementation of swift auth process with aws, i had to construct numerous libraries for Sign4 authentication. Swift UI was also a pretty new tool for me which i had to get accustomed to
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made it through our biggest milestones and were able to successfully call the API
