Inspiration
With the rapid rise of social media and online transactions, teenagers are increasingly exposed to scams, fake advertisements, and misleading financial offers. Many lack awareness and tools to identify these risks. This inspired us to create a solution that not only detects scams but also educates young users to make safer financial decisions.
What it does
We designed FinGuard AI as a concept-driven platform combining artificial intelligence and user-friendly features. The system is structured to analyze patterns in online content—such as suspicious links, ads, and messages—to identify potential scams. Alongside detection, we focused on integrating simple educational tools like tips and alerts to improve financial awareness.
We used:
Research on scam patterns and digital behavior Basic AI concepts for detection logic Design tools (e.g., Canva/Figma) for interface and prototype
Challenges we ran into
Limited technical implementation due to time and resources Ensuring the solution is both simple and effective Translating a complex problem into a clear, practical solution
What we learned
How AI can be applied to real-world financial problems The importance of user-centered design Team collaboration and idea development under time constraints How to present a technical idea in a simple, impactful way
What's next for FinGuard AI
FinGuard AI aims to create a safer digital environment by combining technology and education, helping the next generation stay protected and financially aware.
