Inspiration

Managing your money shouldn't be like solving a puzzle. As students, we felt the pain of tracking expenses, calculating taxes, or even planning savings. People around us jumped between multiple apps just to understand where their money was going. And that inspired us to create Finedge: one intelligent platform that makes financial planning simple, accessible, and smart. We wanted to build something that empowers users with real-time insights and AI-driven guidance, without needing deep financial knowledge.

What it does

Finedge is an AI-powered personal finance platform that brings all essential financial tools under one roof. It includes:

AI Assistant that takes the users income and expenses as input and uses Machine learning to Provide curated financial suggestion along with API fetched financial decision. Real-time currency exchange powered through API-driven AI calls.

Tax calculator, FD calculator, and retirement planner, each automating important financial computations.

An AI chatbot that acts as a virtual finance adviser and gives financial advice, solves doubts, and offers intelligent suggestions.

Our goal was to turn financial complexity into clarity.

How we built it

We built Finedge using a combination of modern web technologies and AI tools:

Frontend: CSS, Tailwind, JavaScript, and interactive UI elements like a 3D sphere.

Backend: Node.js with secure user authentication using bcrypt hashing.

Machine Learning: A simple regression-based model to generate savings recommendations.

APIs: Real-time currency exchange and financial insight endpoints.

Chatbot: An intelligent agent capable of autonomous reasoning and contextual responses.

Challenges we ran into

Initially we were unable to connect the ML model with the frontend but later we studied and accomplished it with the help of flask.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are able to bring our idea( Finedge ) into being.

What we learned

We learned to use Flask, concepts of AI/ML, using of rag, Langchain.

What's next for FINEDGE

In the future we plan to integrate agentic AI into our chat bot and AI financial assistant.
