Fine Print

Inspiration

We were inspired to create this project after making a joke about tricking users into accepting very unethical terms and conditions for another one of our project ideas.

What it does

Our project Fine Print scans user inputted contracts and terms and conditions in order to find sneaky clauses, suspicious wording, and anything that might be disadvantageous to the user. Then it gives a plain text description in the users language of choice of the contract or T&C, and points out any problematic text.

How we built it

We used an Ai-assisted development workflow to allow us to make quick progress.

Challenges we ran into

A big problem we ran into was that we designed our project purely on English contracts for English speakers.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is our first hackathon, so we are proud of being here and building something that we can submit.

What we learned

What's next for Fine Print

We hope to add a feature that allows our software to rewrite suspect clauses and wording to better match what the client wants, and to make sure that there are fair terms for both parties.
