What it does
This project is a web-based map application that displays various locations within a university campus such as parking lots, bathrooms, and water fountains. Each location has a rating and comments section provided by users, making it easier for students and visitors to find the best and most convenient places on campus. The project is also responsive and can be accessed on any device, making it easy for anyone to find what they need on campus. Overall, this project aims to improve the campus experience for students and visitors by providing a user-friendly, easy-to-use, and reliable map application.
How we built it
To build this application, we utilized React, React-Map-GL, and MapBox to include the location of the bathrooms, parking spaces, and water fountains on the UF campus. The application uses React and MapGL to display an interactive map with custom markers, which allows users to view the locations and their details with a simple click.
Challenges we ran into
It was our first time using location data, so it became a challenge for us to implement this application.
