Inspiration:

I noticed the second leading cause of death for people my age is suicide. I think this is something which effects more people than the numbers say. I would love to see more research being done to help reduce these numbers

What it does:

Compiled data and graphs which compare correlation to the suicide rate in each state. It gives a more visual example of how suicide affects each state by different conditions

How I built it

I used kaggle to write my code since they have a good amount of libraries and I've used it before. I then coded in python and used libraries to plot different graphs and calculate correlations

Challenges I ran into

Getting the most recent data since different data points are published at different years. Also making sure the data is reliable and from a trusted source

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud that I was able to combined several data sets into one set. I feel like I was able to draw some realistic conclusions with can be expanded upon in future research

What I learned

More of how to use python libraries, specifically graphing. I also learned good data is extremely important to getting good results

What's next for Finding Correlations Between State Factors and Suicide Rates

Hopefully more research with more data which will influence funding and other factors in preventing suicides and decreasing rates.
