We are deeply motivated by the idea of empowering people to take control of their finances. We believe that misinformation and a lack of financial education have pushed many, especially the most vulnerable, to make decisions that not only perpetuate their economic hardships but also significantly hinder their ability to improve their quality of life. We firmly believe that by providing the right tools and knowledge, we can pave the way to financial security and prosperity for everyone, particularly for those who need it most. Our commitment is to stand by each individual on their journey to financial freedom, ensuring that every step is informed, considered, and enhanced by artificial intelligence.
What it does
Our application is designed to be your personalized financial assistant. It allows you to easily record your income, expenses, and any details of your credits. Additionally, it includes Oinky, an advanced chatbot powered by Gemini, which analyzes your financial information in depth. Oinky does more than just organize your data; it also offers personalized advice, guiding you towards smarter and more sustainable financial decisions in the long term. Oinky's main function is to encourage you to plan and act with a forward-looking vision, ensuring financial management that supports both your stability and economic growth.
How we built it
We have developed our web application using Python, specifically through the Django framework, known for its robustness and efficiency. Additionally, we have integrated Gemini into the views of our application to contextualize the model with user data. This allows us to effectively process inputs from the front end, including specific requests or questions from users. This integration ensures that our application is not only interactive and user-friendly but also customized to meet the individual needs of each user, providing relevant and timely responses and functionalities.
Challenges we ran into
One of the greatest challenges we faced while developing our application was creating a tool intuitive enough that anyone, regardless of their age, educational level, or region of origin, could understand its functionality and start using it quickly. Additionally, integrating Gemini effectively so that it could accurately interpret user information presented a significant challenge. However, thanks to comprehensive and detailed documentation, we were able to overcome these obstacles. This effort has allowed us to provide an accessible and user-friendly solution that empowers users, facilitating their interaction with technology in a natural and effective way.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have found a way to help others using technology and artificial intelligence. Additionally, we are proud to have developed a friendly and accessible visual identity, despite none of us being experts in design or front-end development. This achievement reflects our commitment to creating a tool that is not only powerful in terms of functionality but also welcoming and easy to use, demonstrating that advanced technology can be accessible to everyone.
What we learned
During the development of our project, we faced various challenges and learning opportunities that greatly enriched our experience. We learned to use Gemini, exploring and maximizing its potential to enhance our application. Additionally, we acquired skills in graphic design programs to create our logo, and independently developed the frontend of our application. This process not only improved our technical skills but also allowed us to delve deeper into the field of financial education. We researched its main shortcomings in our country, which reinforced the justification and need for our project. These learnings have better prepared us to contribute significantly and effectively to solving real-world problems through technology.
What's next for FindIA
The next step for FindIA is to focus on refining and enriching the user experience. We plan to add new functionalities that will enable users to evaluate investment options more effectively. Additionally, we are working on integrations with financial institutions to facilitate the automatic reading of bank statements, thus allowing direct information upload into the application. In the long term, we aim to launch a mobile version of FindIA, in order to provide our users with more flexible and convenient access to our tools, wherever they may be.
