Inspiration 💡
We took the themes of inclusivity, accessibility and diversity and brainstormed what could relate to these. We settled on finding food options for those with dietary restrictions, incorporating the common problem of finding what to eat with features for accessibility.
What it does ✅
Type in a location, pick filters for price, rating, cuisine, types of restrictions, and it will return scrollable descriptions for restaurants with names and contact info.
How we built it 🔧
We built it in VSCode
Challenges we ran into 🚦
The different environments on our computers meant issues with dependencies and we had a hard time getting it to run locally on our respective machines. Also, many times the website would not work, such as the picture wouldn't show up, or the location was wrong, and we would have to troubleshoot each issue individually.
Accomplishments that we're proud of 🏆
Not DNFing
What we learned 🤓
We learned a lot about persevering even when everything seems like it's breaking and how to work effectively on a team even with a tight time crunch.
What's next for FindDine 🍽️
Adding more dietary restrictions and displaying the menus directly on the website.
