Inspiration
We wanted to give information of employers in Career Fair that matches to user's status, not only for location, but also a lot of information that would be 'actual' help for users.
What it does
The app first lets you to register or sign in. When a user gives the input of your major, GPA, and the graduation year, it finds employers who are seeking people like user's. In addition to the location of the booths that are seeking people like user, we also gives you information about location and time of AU Career Fair using Google Map API. The app also has the function to email AU Career Center and app developers.
How we built it
We used Android Studio with JAVA language. Other sources we used are Firebase(Google Cloud), Google Map API. We used AuburnHacks Sponsors for examples.
Challenges we ran into
Breaking up tasks made a lot faster in progressing the project. However, when we are combining all the codes from all four members, there were a lot of compile issues. Especially, it was full of problems when we deal with the online database.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are pretty proud of the whole project and the fact that every member stayed up whole night working really hard.
What we learned
Two out of four members had apsolutely no idea about the android app development, but now we feel like we are all experts. We realized the importance of sysnergy between the colleagues, that would make anything possible.
What's next for Find Your Booth
As we are using online database, we are sure that this app has a lot of potential. Based on the fact that online database has a lot of potential, it is much easier to develop this app more to much advanced level.
