Inspiration
We wanted to help the lonely souls of Denton find love in a unique way, so we created a quirky, Halloween-inspired dating app for those who embrace the spooky side of romance.
What it does
Our Figma wireframe shows how users can navigate the app, swipe through potential matches, and start chatting—all with a Halloween twist.
How we built it
We designed everything in Figma, drawing layout inspiration from Tinder while giving it a Halloween makeover to match the hackathon theme. The object cards feature interactions designed with swift logic to add some fun to the swiping experience.
Challenges we ran into
One big challenge was ensuring the Halloween theme felt immersive without overpowering usability. Finding a balance between a fun, spooky design and an intuitive user experience took some trial and error. Integrating swift logic for interactive object cards also required careful tweaking to work smoothly with Figma’s prototyping.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud of how the app’s theme came together, creating a playful yet user-friendly experience. Seeing the object cards work in prototype mode was a huge win, making it easy for users to swipe and interact as if it were a fully developed app.
What we learned
We discovered Figma’s dev mode, which was a game-changer. It allowed us to turn our designs into code snippets in SwiftUI, HTML/CSS, and Flutter, making it easier to visualize how the prototype could look in a real app environment. It really showed us the power of Figma for collaborative app design.
What's next for Find Your Boo
We’re considering adding more customization options to help users personalize their profiles. We also want to develop more Halloween-themed interaction effects, like ghostly animations or a spooky sound when users swipe. Expanding the app’s functionality with event-based matchmaking could also be a fun way for users to meet during real Halloween events in Denton.
