Inspiration

We've all been there: you're in a group, everyone's hungry, and now it's time to eat. Fast forward 10 minutes later, and no decision has been made. Sound familiar? Well on the way to HackGT, my team experienced just that. As the natural problem solvers we are, we sought to eliminate this issue. Enter Find my Food.

What it does:

Find My Food is a creative solution to entirely eliminate decision making when eating out. If you have ever had trouble choosing one place to eat, this app is for you! Just simply select your price and distance limits, any preferences/restrictions, and the app will work its magic.

This project was built on modern PWA technology, allowing you to visit the web app, add to your home screen, and treat it just like an installed app, no downloading or installation required!

The goal was to optimize a user's preferences and improve the results over time. We planned to implement a unique machine learning model and train it with user's demographic data and ratings to ensure the best possible user experience. The online learning model would assign a "match" score to each restaurant.
