Find lost/missing children using Deep Learning

Inspiration

Every year thousands of children went missing around the world with a little hope of recovery. And some times it takes years for parents to find their missing child. A lot of organizations are working to help people for their purpose but they are limmited to specific area. So we came up with idea of creating a cross-platform app to help people find their missing children with just using their smart phone or computers.

What it does

If any body lost his child, they can upload a picture of their missing child to our cross-platform application with some details(optional). If any other body finds a missing child, he/she uploads pic of that child on our platform. And then in backend after face detection and recogntion, if that image matches any other image in database, we inform that child's parent and that person as well using their preferred method.

How I built it

It works on Face Detection and recognition technology. It is a cross-platform application using React-native for Android, iOS and React for Web Platform. On backend it uses Deep Learning libraries such as Tensorflow. We have used Facenet a model trained on Tensorflow for face recognition. We have also used Azure Cognitive Services for better results.
