Inspiration

We were inspired by the everyday challenge of finding great places to eat nearby, especially when time is limited or when exploring new areas. We wanted to create a simple yet effective solution that helps users easily discover the best dining options based on location, preferences, and reviews.

What it does

Our app uses geolocation to pinpoint nearby restaurants and provides recommendations based on user preferences such as cuisine type, rating, and distance. The app also includes filters for budget, dietary needs, and user reviews to ensure a personalized experience.

How we built it

Built from Agent verse with the assistance of Delta v, our app leverages advanced algorithms for data processing .APIs: Integrated third-party APIs like Yelp and Zomato to fetch restaurant details and reviews, alongside the Google Places API for location services.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was integrating multiple APIs and managing the data flow efficiently. Handling various user preferences and providing accurate, up-to-date results without overwhelming users with information also required careful design and testing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created an intuitive interface that allows users to find the best dining options in seconds. We are also proud of optimizing the app for speed, ensuring that users get instant results even in low-connectivity areas.

What we learned

We learned a lot about managing and integrating third-party APIs, handling geolocation data, and improving the user experience. Working with real-time data also helped us enhance our understanding of data caching and error handling.

What's next for find best restaurant nearby

We plan to:

Implement AI-based recommendations that learn from user preferences. Expand the search features to include hidden gems or lesser-known restaurants. Add social features so users can share and review their dining experiences within the app. Incorporate advanced filters like time of day, seating availability, and online reservations.
