Inspiration

We looked at the financial planning process in modern teams and saw a disconnect that was costing companies millions. Finance teams worked in spreadsheets, engineers worked in Jira, and product managers worked in Confluence—three separate worlds with the same goal but different languages.

What it does

FinCollab is your AI financial analyst embedded in Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Rovo) that transforms budget analysis from a static spreadsheet into an interactive team conversation.

How we built it

We have built it by Forge and rovo with node.js, also developed the whole app with VS Code then deployed it to jira and Confluence. Which are working with Atlassian’s.

Challenges we ran into

Challenge: Financial analysis is naturally dry. How do we make it engaging enough for daily use? Breakthrough: Narrative-driven reporting

What we learned

We initially built FinCollab as a "reporting bot"

Discovery: When we added "What do you think, team?" to prompts, engagement skyrocketed

Lesson: AI should facilitate human conversation, not replace it
