Inspiration
While brainstorming for this project and getting into designing it, we were inspired based off of the challenges that related to finance and money matters.
What it does
We mainly designed and coded a blogging website that allows users to view and create their own blogs about finance. Users can scroll through different blogs and create their own.
How we built it
We used next.js, scss, react.js, 3js, and the headless CMS API. This API helped us manage our content for the website on the back-end. Next.js and react.js mainly streamlined our interactive elements and components. Scss helped us bring our design to life with its added functionality.
Challenges we ran into
While designing the project, trying to make the website look good did make us end up with a few roadblocks. Scss did mainly give us the most issues since it was hard to customize our website to our liking without running into an error here and there.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The wave animation on the home page definitely stands out and we used 3js to make it. The dropdown menu that appears when the resolution of the website is shortened for mobile devices is also something impressive. Our overall design is definitely one of the best we have ever done.
What we learned
We mainly learned about the API that lets us manage content on the backend much easier. We also learned more about design and aesthetics while we designed our website on Figma. We also became more experience in the different .js platforms.
What's next for Financially Fresh
We plan to fully finish our website so that it can be utilized to its full potential. Right now we would like to add a little bit more to our design but time restraints did not allow us to code it.
