Inspiration
We were brainstorming ideas on what to do for Capitol One's challenge and decided on this because it was a twist on something familiar.
What it does
It is supposed to be a regular planner that is also connected to a bank account balance. It allows for a calendar formatting of expenses and income which enables the user to contextualize their financial habits on a day to day basis. It also encourages good spending habits with rewards if the user can stay within their daily spending targets for a certain amount of time.
How we built it
It was all through Java. We had classes for Financial Planner, Account, and User. And we also had a GUI for the user to interact with the actual planner.
Challenges we ran into
Having the user interact with the planner as intended
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Figuring out how to make the GUI
What we learned
How to make GUI, how to sync GitHub repository to multiple people's VSCode
What's next for Financial Planner
Fixing up the GUI formatting and adding the calendar aspect
