Inspiration
All of us being college students and having never been taught any courses on financial literacy, we decided to create a fun and interactive way for young people to learn about personal finance!
What it does
It gives the player real life situation examples and forces them to think about making the right financial decisions in the game
How we built it
We built it by coding the functions in Python, designing the graphics on Figma and developing the graphical user interface using Tkinter.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge we ran into was building the graphical user interface.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of thinking of an important yet overlooked idea very quickly, learning financial information ourselves along the way and building an app for the first time ever!
What we learned
We learned how to use Tkinter since we had never used that before, improved our function writing skills in Python and also improved our graphic designing skills when looking for ways to make the app look visually appealing.
What's next for Money Madness
The next step would be to add more scenarios in the game so the game is longer and teaches more concepts related to personal finances. Another step would be to add animation so it is more interactive for the players.
Built With
- figma
- python
