Inspiration

We were inspired by the scholarship search and the many resources that often overwhelm us. As underrepresented genders and minorities in STEM we are fueled to persevere for an ideal ROI on our college experience and would like to promote STEM (especially CS) uniquely at FIU.

What it does

This project is meant to advise, guide, and present tailored information regarding the scholarship search based on their assessment inputs. We would like to emphasize underrepresented genders toward a STEM path, especially at FIU, and their journey in choosing a lucrative career based on academic and financial criteria.

How we built it

We crafted an intuitive and engaging platform using Flask, HTML, and CSS. By integrating Gemini AI and SQLite databases, along with web scraping capabilities, we've created a powerful tool that searches and guides FIU students in a personalized and efficient manner.

Challenges we ran into

When faced with Streamlit compatibility issues, we quickly adapted our strategy. Instead of being deterred, we pivoted to alternative solutions that aligned better with our project goals, demonstrating our resilience and problem-solving skills.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our team's dedication led to several notable achievements: *Successfully meeting multiple sponsor challenges *Persevering through obstacles and finding innovative alternatives *Completing an intense all-nighter to meet our goals *Submitting a polished project on time *Seamlessly integrating API and Gemini AI technologies

What we learned

This experience taught us invaluable lessons in task management, prioritization, and feature optimization. We gained a deeper understanding of how to balance intricate details while maintaining focus on the bigger picture.

What's next for FIU Financial Education

Our vision for the future includes enhancing our AI capabilities to provide an even more personalized experience for students. User testing would be a priority to ensure our platform is not just informative, but truly interactive and engaging for our diverse user base.
