Inspiration

According to an article in The Guardian, people using payday loans are more likely to report poor health and in some cases, the APR on payday loans exceeds more than 1000%. It is really sad to see how lenders are exploiting communities who have little to no information on other types of sources of money or sometimes just other financial firms with better services.

What it does

We wanted to educate those communities and help them by providing the information on best loaner services that are offered near their locality, keeping in mind different needs according to people in different tax brackets or locations.

How we built it

We wrote the project using node.js, using the Express framework to create a server and render HTML pages.

Challenges we ran into

We had trouble deploying the website onto GitHub. Front-end of the website could have been more refined and artistic if given more time because we wanted to make the website very user-friendly and comprehensible. Ability to give better output without much input from the user. Familiarity with tools used.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have deployed the website and made the site work and run successfully. We also managed to add design functionality such as a dropdown menu and container image.

What we learned

We learned how inclusive it ought to be when we design a product or service that serves the community. We also learned how frustrating it can be to wrangle with GitHub.
