Inspiration

This application was inspired from a combination of tik tok, youtube shorts and other "doom scrolling" apps as well as Duolingo's style of quizzes. As well as attempting to add a familiar yet entertaining twist to filling out forms.

What it does

This web app allows the user to doom scroll on their device (mobile or pc), and expand their financial literature through repetitive micro learning, then they can test their skills in the branching finance skill tree. Finally they can optimize their abilities by tax maxing and filling out boring financial form models (like w-2) in potentially record times in an entertaining way. All of the tools in this web app were designed around familiar habits and progression systems, usually only reserved for leisure time or when you are trying to procrastinate.

How we built it

It was built using the flask framework, with a python backend and heavy java script integrated with html and css for the front end. Additionally utilizing some boot strap. With the help of copilot for the more filler objects.

Challenges we ran into

This project turned out to require a lot more very important, yet almost unnoticeable features to be satisfactory, some challenges like working through a reliable scrolling feature, node branching feature and data passing back end so everything could remain dynamic and scalable. Additionally a majority of our team was new to software development and programming, learning through first time hands on experience and asking the great co pilot.
